Our namesake
The name Blue Duck comes from an unlikely place (the movie Billy Madison). In the film, Billy draws a blue duck and explains that he drew it simply because he hadn’t seen one before and wanted to. That idea stuck. Just because you haven’t seen something before doesn’t mean you can’t create it. Draw it. Brew it. Build it.
This is our version of a blue duck. Rooted in tradition, yet uniquely our own.
A place to gather
With large overhead doors and patio seating we are building a space that feels open, welcoming, and community-centered.
A place to meet friends, bring the kids, and settle in for a great pint. We hope to contribute to Kingston’s growing beer culture and offer something truly unique: A place where good beer and good people come together.

Our brewing philosophy
At Blue Duck, we generally believe less is more. Our beers are unfiltered, and without finings. We allow time and local ingredients to shine through each pour.
Our lagers and pilsners are inspired by German and Czech traditions and crafted with local ingredients whenever possible.

Built from the ground up
Blue Duck has been a long journey, both professionally and personally. Equipment has been sourced from across the country. Our custom brew house was built in Wisconsin. Every detail, from the retro feel of the space to the modern production setup, has been thoughtfully assembled.
It honors the old while building something entirely new.
For Ryan, bringing Blue Duck to his hometown and working alongside family makes the project even more meaningful. It’s not just about brewing great beer. It’s about creating something lasting.
